"We support and encourage our membership to engage in fair, affordable housing initiatives that promote home ownership for all segments of the community."

The Columbus Mortgage Bankers Association has weathered huge changes since it was established in 1950. However, the past 10-15 years have been especially exciting in the mortgage lending industry with high loan volumes, an explosion of people entering the business as well as a mass exodus, the expansion then contraction of loan products and guidelines, sophisticated technology and heavy regulation. CMBA has helped our members weather these changes.

Monthly meetings include either a speaker or training class to keep members informed. Our committees give members the opportunity to become involved in the community and the industry. Social functions provide the opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow professionals. We work closely with our state and national Mortgage Bankers Associations to keep members abreast of information that affects their business.

My involvement with CMBA began in the mid-1980s and this relationship has been extremely valuable to me both professionally and personally. It has been a network of people that has come to my aid in many ways. I have made some wonderful friends who have stuck by me for over 20 years. The knowledge I have gained from classes, seminars and speakers has made me a better employee as well as increased my value to my clients.

Columbus Mortgage Bankers Association members adhere to a Canon of Ethics that sets high standards, so it is not surprising that they are recognized as professionals in the mortgage lending industry. I am proud to be a part of this organization and, if you are not a member, I invite you to join and share in the benefits.
